Comparison
AppSprint alternative: two Mac ASO apps, one subscription and one license
AppSprint and LocalASO are both Mac apps for App Store keyword research, but AppSprint is a $108-per-year subscription that also covers Apple Ads and revenue data, while LocalASO is a $29 one-time license focused on keywords and localized listings.
As of November 2026 the two overlap on keyword research, rank tracking, country coverage and an MCP server. The differences are what sits around the keyword view and how you pay.

Where AppSprint covers more
AppSprint's page says it combines keyword research with the downloads and revenue of competitor apps, Apple Search Ads management, and revenue attribution through its SDK and integrations. Its Mac page lists 66 countries. Both the second Mac and the Apple Ads tools matter to some developers: if you already buy Apple Ads and want ad management next to keyword data, AppSprint offers that in the same app, which LocalASO does not.
Where LocalASO covers less, on purpose
LocalASO has no Apple Ads management, no revenue or download estimates and no attribution. It estimates volume and difficulty from the rating counts of ranking apps, not from Apple data; read the search volume guide for what that means. Its strength is the listing step: adapting keywords per language with your own AI, and uploading the draft to App Store Connect, never submitting.
A purchase test
Ask two questions.
- Do you run Apple Ads or use a revenue SDK today? If yes, AppSprint's extra tools have a use, and $108 per year is the price of that bundle.
- Do you only need keywords and listing text? If yes, the bundle is extra. At $29 once, LocalASO is cheaper after the first year by $79 and after the third year by $295 (3 x $108 minus $29).
When AppSprint is the better choice
Choose AppSprint if you want Apple Ads management, competitor revenue estimates or attribution next to keyword research, or if you need a license on two Macs. Its docs also include guides for Apple Ads, screenshots and localization.
When LocalASO is the better choice
Choose LocalASO if you want a one-time price, no recurring bill, and a keyword board that stays on your machine. See the Mac apps roundup for the other options, the MCP comparison for agent setups, and LocalASO pricing.
