Keyword cannibalization (App Store)

• Do not duplicate the app name or company name in the keyword list.
• Do not repeat words from the name, subtitle or category.
• Avoid plurals of words already included, generic terms like "app", and filler words.

Apple does not document whether a repeated word earns extra weight. The documented effect of repetition is lost space.

A hypothetical habit tracker has the name "Streakly: Habit Tracker", the subtitle "Daily routines that stick" and the category Health & Fitness. Its keyword field is habit,tracker,daily,routine,fitness,planner,goals (49 bytes). "habit" and "tracker" repeat the name, "daily" repeats the subtitle, "fitness" repeats the category. Removing them leaves routine,planner,goals (21 bytes), freeing 28 bytes for new terms such as checklist,reminder,journal.

1. List every word in your app name, subtitle and primary category.
2. Compare them with the keyword field.
3. Remove duplicates. Keep a word in the field that gives it the most use.

Different words with the same meaning are not cannibalization, but they may be waste. Apple does not document how it treats plurals and word forms, so test before you spend bytes on both.
