Comparison
Uprika alternative: two one-time ASO apps with different licenses and scope
Uprika is a desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux that covers both the App Store and Google Play with a free tier and a $47 one-time Pro License, and LocalASO is a $29 one-time Mac app for the App Store only; as of November 2026 the licenses also differ in what updates they include.
They share a model: you pay once, the data stays on your machine, and you bring your own AI. The real differences are platform coverage, update terms and how each tool finds keywords.

What Uprika is
Uprika describes itself as a 100% local desktop app. Its flow is: enter an app idea, a URL or custom keywords, let AI brainstorm seed keywords, scrape store data to score each opportunity, generate a keyword-optimized listing with coverage tracking, expand to other languages and publish through your store API keys. It also has a command-line interface for scripts and AI agents.
LocalASO's flow starts from your existing listing and competitors, checks keywords in 52 storefronts, estimates volume and difficulty from ratings, and proposes a localized name, subtitle and keyword field per language.

The update difference
Uprika's price buys a year of updates; the app keeps working afterward, and extending costs $29 per year. If you want a feature that ships in year three, you either pay again or stay on your version. LocalASO's page states updates are included in the $29. Given store changes, ask both vendors what happens when Apple changes a rule after your term ends. Over three years a user who extends Uprika's updates twice pays $47 + $29 + $29 = $105 against $29 for LocalASO.
When Uprika is the better choice
- You also publish on Google Play, or work on Windows or Linux.
- You want a free version to try first: 10 keyword scans and 8 listings, with no card.
- You want to publish listings directly to both stores through your API keys.
- You need two devices on one license.
When LocalASO is the better choice
- You only need the Apple App Store and want the lowest price.
- You want rank tracking across 52 storefronts with history stored locally, rather than scans.
- You prefer updates included without a yearly extension.
Neither tool is the only one-time ASO app; Wow Keywords sells one too. For the market overview see the one-time purchase comparison and the Mac roundup. To judge the data quality yourself, read how LocalASO estimates volume and check pricing.
