Comparison
App Radar alternative for solo developers who only need App Store keywords
App Radar is a web platform whose Essentials plan costs EUR 69 per month (EUR 690 per year) as of November 2026 and covers 2 apps and 500 keywords; LocalASO is a $29 one-time Mac app for the Apple App Store with no keyword or app limit.
The price gap is large, but the products are not like for like. App Radar edits listings for both stores and manages reviews. LocalASO researches, tracks and writes App Store keywords locally. This page shows where each makes sense.

What App Radar's plans include
App Radar's pricing page lists two plans most solo developers will look at:
| Plan (as of November 2026) | Price | Apps | Keywords | Other |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | EUR 69 per month, EUR 58 per month billed yearly (EUR 690) | 2 | 500 | 25 competitors, 1 seat, 50 review replies per month, 7-day trial |
| Growth | EUR 169 per month, EUR 141 yearly | 10 | Not read | Higher limits |
The vendor's own wording matters here: it counts one app in one store across all localizations as one app. A two-app limit means two store listings, so an app on iOS and Android uses both slots.
Cost per app
If you ship one iPhone app, Essentials costs EUR 690 per year for that app, and the other slot sits empty. If you ship two, it is EUR 345 per app per year. LocalASO costs $29 once, so the cost per app falls as you add apps, and there is no cap. The limit on the other side is hardware: one license activates one Mac.
What App Radar does that LocalASO does not
- Both stores. App Radar advertises a listing editor and bulk editor that push metadata to Google and Apple from one interface. LocalASO covers the Apple App Store only.
- Reviews. Essentials includes review replies, and App Radar markets AI-assisted replies and review summaries. LocalASO does not manage reviews.
- Web access and teams. It is a cloud product; you sign in from any computer. LocalASO runs on a Mac with macOS 14 or later.
- Positioning for agencies. App Radar's site addresses startups and indie developers, corporations and agencies separately.
What LocalASO does that App Radar's Essentials plan does not
- Pays once. $29 compared with EUR 690 for a year of Essentials.
- Keeps data on your Mac. Keywords, ranks and listings sit in a local database.
- Covers 52 storefronts at no extra cost. Each keyword is adapted to the local language and checked in that store.
- Uses your own AI. Claude Code, an Anthropic API key, Ollama, Codex or Gemini CLI write the localized listing, and you can upload it to App Store Connect as a draft. LocalASO never submits an app for review.
LocalASO's numbers are estimates from ratings, not store search counts. App Radar's page also advertises AI keyword lists and automatic translation of keywords into English; its text does not name the volume source, so ask before relying on it.
When App Radar is the better choice
Choose App Radar if you publish on Google Play and the App Store and want one editor for both, if you reply to reviews from the same place, or if colleagues or clients need access. Choose it too if you want a vendor trial before paying, which LocalASO does not offer.
When LocalASO is the better choice
Choose LocalASO if you only need App Store keywords across many countries, you work alone, and a recurring EUR 58 to EUR 69 monthly fee is more than your keyword work justifies. A good test is how many countries you localize: the localization guide and the keyword research guide show the workflow either tool supports.
