App Store Connect

App Store Connect is Apple's suite of tools, on the web, iPhone and iPad, for uploading, submitting and managing your apps on the App Store. It is also where you edit the metadata that decides how your app is found.

Updated

What it covers

Apple describes it as the place to submit builds, manage releases, invite testers through TestFlight, view sales reports and read App Analytics, which measures user engagement, marketing campaigns and monetization. For ASO the part that matters most is the product page editor: app name, subtitle, keywords, description, screenshots and app previews.

Where each field lives

The App Store Connect API shows how Apple splits the data. Name and subtitle (with privacy policy fields) belong to the app-info localization. Description, keywords, marketing URL, promotional text, support URL and What's New belong to the version localization. In practice, name and subtitle are shared across platforms, while description and similar text are tied to a version, as covered in What's New.

Timing

After you update app information, Apple states it may take up to 24 hours for the change to appear on the App Store or when users install the app. Plan edits and measurement windows with that delay in mind.

Common mistakes

  • Changing a name after submission and expecting an instant edit. Name editing depends on the app's state.
  • Editing a single locale and assuming the rest follow. Each is separate.

In LocalASO

LocalASO can upload listing text to App Store Connect as a draft. It never submits an app for review, so you review and submit in App Store Connect yourself. The steps are in the App Store Connect docs, and the broader method is in the localization guide.

API access is described under the App Store Connect API, and the extra category under secondary category.
