Support URL (App Store)

The Support URL is a required field in App Store Connect that links to a page where users can get help with your app. It appears on the product page.

Updated

Apple's rules

The Support URL is required, can be localized, must include the protocol (for example https://) and must lead to actual contact information. Apple names legal address, email address and telephone number as examples, as may be required by local law. A page that is only a blank form or a marketing site without a way to reach you is a risk.

Where it sits

In the App Store Connect API, supportUrl is an attribute of the version localization, next to the description, promotional text and What's New. Each locale can carry its own URL.

Example

A hypothetical app, Streakly, could point to https://streakly.example/support, a page with an email address, a short list of answers and a response-time note. In German, a localized page gives German-speaking users help in their language.

Common mistakes

  • Omitting the protocol.
  • Linking to the home page with no contact details.
  • Using one URL for every localization when you offer support in only one language. Be honest about which languages you support.

Next step

Fill in all version fields in App Store Connect and check text limits in the metadata limits reference.

The related optional field is the Marketing URL, and the fields of a release are described under app version.

Privacy links are covered under app privacy details.
